Karen and Tom Wanderings

Gnarly fall weather moved into the Seattle area, nixing the backpack in the Olympics we had planned for Kelsey's visit.  Instead, we opted for a couple of days over in the Methow Valley ... for some day hiking and mountain biking. 

Back at our car, we headed to Ontario, Oregon for some benefits of civilization (shower, bed, food).  It was also a good spot to make final decisions regarding the next segment of our trip.

After waiting out the blustery post-Whistler weather at home (and doing some additional research), we headed east for a backpack in the Eagle Cap Wilderness near the Oregon/Idaho border.
